Personal Information

Personal data are individual details about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person, for example: name, address, telephone number, date of birth.

If personal data is entered on the website, this is done voluntarily. This may be the case when registering for newsletters, sending an inquiry using the contact form or sending an email. The data voluntarily transmitted by you will be processed and used only for the designated purpose.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

If data is passed on to external service providers for the purposes of order processing, it is stored on specially protected servers in Germany. Access to personal information is only possible for specially authorized persons who are responsible for the technical or editorial support of the servers.

We will only pass on your personal data to third parties:

  • if you have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO
  • if the disclosure in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f DSGVO is necessary to assert, exercise or defend legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in your data not being disclosed
  • in the event that a legal obligation exists for the transfer in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c DSGVO and
  • if this is required in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b DSGVO for the processing of contractual relationships with you.

Personal and confidential data (for example health data) should generally be kept secret and should therefore not be sent to us by email. We expressly point out that security cannot be guaranteed when transmitting data via the Internet, such as in communication by e-mail, which means that unauthorized access by third parties cannot be safely ruled out.

Analysis of User Data

The tracking measures listed below and used by us are carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f DSGVO.

Use of Cookies

The website of the German Heart Center Berlin uses cookies to store search requests and to adapt individual areas of the content to your interests. Cookies are text files that are stored locally in the cache of your Internet browser. Cookies enable recognition of the internet browser. The German Heart Center Berlin does not collect any personal data via cookies, so that all functions of the internet pages can be called up without cookies. If you do not want the German Heart Center Berlin to recognize your computer, set your browser so that cookies are blocked or deleted directly from your hard drive or you are at least warned of cookie storage. Install a browser plugin, e.g. from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Google Analytics

The website of the German Heart Center Berlin uses Google Analytics for statistical purposes and to adapt the website to changing user needs (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter “Google”). The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to create reports about the website activities and to provide further services associated with the use of the website and the Internet.

This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of the company. The data collected with the analysis service is not used to personally identify the visitor to our internet pages and is not combined with personal data about the bearer of a possible pseudonym.

However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, Google will reduce your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website such as

  • browser type/version
  • operating system used
  • referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • time of the server request,

are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

You may prevent the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case not all functions of the website may be used in full. In addition, you can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (incl. IP address) and from processing this data if you download and install the browser plug-in using the following link (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

SSL or TLS Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as the site operators, our website uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.This means that data that you transmit via this website cannot be read by third parties. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” address line of your browser and the lock symbol in the browser line.

Social Networks

To make our website more attractive, we work together with platforms such as Facebook or YouTube. These services collect, process and use personal data independently and at their own discretion. For the “Share” function, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective social network (Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp).

Newsletter

If you have expressly consented to receive our newsletter in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 a DSGVO, we will use your email address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. To receive the newsletter it is sufficient to provide an email address.

It is possible for you to revoke your consent and thus cancel receipt of the newsletter at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you are welcome to send your unsubscribe request at any time to presse@dhzb.de by email.

Contact Form

We offer you the opportunity to contact us using a form provided on the website. A valid email address is required so that we can trace who sent the request and respond to it. Further information can be provided voluntarily.

The data provided for the purpose of contacting us in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO is processed on the basis of your voluntary consent. The personal data collected by us for use of the contact form will be deleted after your request has been processed.

External Links

The assurances of this data protection declaration apply only to the websites of the German Heart Center Berlin and not to websites of third parties to which we have provided links. We have no influence on the observance of the legal data protection regulations by these providers.

Right to Information

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to free information about your stored personal data, the origin of the data, its recipients and the purpose of data processing and, if necessary, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data.

Right of Objection

If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 letter f DSGVO, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data as stated in Art. 21 DSGVO, provided that there are reasons for this which arise from your particular situation or the objection is directed against direct advertising. In the latter case, you have a general right of objection, which we will implement without specifying a particular situation.
