Defintion
The aortopulmonary window is a connection between the aorta and the pulmonary artery.
Operation
The heart-lung machine is connected to the child and the heart is stopped by cardioplegia. The aorta is opened in the area of the defect and the aorta and the pulmonary artery are reconstructed using patches.
