Increasingly larger shares of diagnostics and therapy are being shifted to the outpatient sector, which on the one hand is an expression of a clear trend in the German health care system and on the other hand is constantly increasing the demands on high-quality outpatient care. The high number of patients with increasingly complex outpatient care is evidence of an increase in efficiency in the outpatient sector. This is reflected in the sharp increase in the number of outpatients over the last ten years.
