Training at the AfK begins annually on the 1st of April. All applicants are required to:

• have completed secondary school or equivalent education / training
• have successfully completed training as a nurse, pediatric nurse, medical-technical laboratory assistant, medical-technical radiology assistant/in, bio-medical technician (or a comparable medical or technical training program) and have at least two years of professional experience in their respective profession
• be in a state of health commensurate with the requirements of the profession.

An official certificate of good conduct must accompany the usual application documents.

This Committee is composed of:

• the director of the Academy for Perfusionists
• the physician in charge of perfusionists at the German Heart Institute Berlin
• the Academy instructors
• the head perfusionist of the German Heart Institute Berlin
