June 2010:
Cooperation Agreement with the Peking Military Hospital
At the beginning of May the administrative director of the DHZB, Dipl-Ing. Thomas Höhn, and the heart surgeon General Professor Xianghua Zhang from the Military Hospital 309 in Peking signed a cooperation agreement.
The contract covers cooperation between the two institutions concerning the treatment of cardiovascular disease and the exchange of guest physicians, and arose at the initiative of Prof. Yu-Guo Weng of the DHZB. Some months before signing the contract, Prof. Zhang had the opportunity to visit the DHZB. In Peking Mr. Höhn held a lecture on the historical and economic history and the structure of the DHZB. Prof. Weng presented a lecture on the focuses of the DHZB. Mr. Höhn was awarded the title of guest professor.
Nikolai P. Burkhart of Zehnacker/Sodexo, the DHZB’s partner company for non-medical services, which already has a branch in China, also took part in the negotiations and gathered information about the non-medical services such as cleaning, catering and building management.
General Prof. Zhang explained to the guests that the Military Hospital 309 is the equivalent of a maximal care center in Germany in terms of its size and the spectrum of treatment offered. It is responsible in the first place for the Chinese military but also for the medical treatment of the civil population. The exchange of certificates set the seal on the agreement and on the friendly relations between the two hospitals.
