The Department of Internal Medicine / Cardiology
The department is responsible for the entire area of internal medicine, and focuses on the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
- The complete spectrum of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the disciplines of cardiology and angiology is available.
- The latest developments in treatment methods are constantly subjected to scientific scrutiny and, when appropriate, introduced into the patient-care program. A prerequisite of this process is an integrated data and information retrieval system, which ensures care of the highest quality and also fosters good economic performance.
- Whether an operation is necessary is decided in collaboration with the Department for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. Preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing surgical treatment, including long-term follow-up examinations, is provided by the Department for Internal Medicine / Cardiology. The department is also ideally equipped to treat further internal diseases from which the patient may suffer.
