The Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin (DHZB, German Heart Institute Berlin) is a specialist center for heart treatment with a worldwide reputation for excellence.
The purpose of the foundation is the expert treatment of all heart conditions, the promotion of public health, and state-of-the-art research in the fields of adult and pediatric heart surgery and cardiology.
Within a short time of its inception in 1986 the Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin developed into a specialist center for heart treatment with a worldwide reputation for excellence.
The Department for Quality Management is responsible to the Administrative Director. It co-ordinates, organizes and performs all quality management activities of the DHZB. These are based on the decisions made by the team for organizational development in conjunction with the Executive Board.
On 25 February 1988, 2 years after the Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin opened, the Society of Friends of the DHZB e.V. (registered charity) was established with its seat at the DHZB.
